We start by looking at the property

The first step is to understand what you want the CCTV system to cover and why.

Driveways, side access, garden gates, entrances and outbuildings can all present different requirements. Where people are likely to approach from, the available lighting and where cameras can be positioned and cabled all affect what makes sense.

Camera positions should also be considered carefully where they could capture neighbouring property or areas beyond your own boundary.

We don't start with the same CCTV package for every house.

A camera covering a rear garden may have a very different job from one covering the front entrance or driveway, so the system is specified around the property and what you actually want to see.

Archer supplies and installs the systems it specifies rather than operating as a fitting service for CCTV equipment bought elsewhere.

Once the system is installed, you need to understand how to use it and how to access the footage you may need later.

Archer's approach is to understand the requirement, specify the appropriate system, and then supply and install that system. We don't operate as a labour-only installation service for customer-supplied CCTV equipment.

If you already have an existing CCTV system that needs servicing or assessing, speak to Archer about the equipment you have.

Will home CCTV work at night?

Night-time performance depends on the camera, its position, the available lighting and what you need the camera to capture.

That's one of the reasons we look at the property before specifying a system rather than promising the same result from every camera position.

How long is CCTV footage kept?

That depends on the system specification, how it is configured and the storage available.

We'll discuss the appropriate setup as part of specifying the system.
