The first step is to understand what you want the CCTV system to cover and why.

Driveways, side access, garden gates, entrances and outbuildings can all present different requirements. Where people are likely to approach from, the available lighting and where cameras can be positioned and cabled all affect what makes sense.

Camera positions should also be considered carefully where they could capture neighbouring property or areas beyond your own boundary.

We don't start with the same CCTV package for every house.

A camera covering a rear garden may have a very different job from one covering the front entrance or driveway, so the system is specified around the property and what you actually want to see.

Archer Security supplies and installs the systems it specifies rather than operating as a fitting service for CCTV equipment bought elsewhere.

Monitored CCTV for your home

For homeowners who want more than recorded footage alone, Archer Security can provide monitored CCTV systems that communicate with an Alarm Receiving Centre.

Archer Security uses Camect technology to support monitored CCTV, using AI to help filter false alarms before relevant activations are communicated to the Alarm Receiving Centre.

Depending on the property and requirements, monitored CCTV can use detector-operated triggers or AI analytics. Archer Security will assess the environment and recommend the monitoring approach best suited to the property.

Monitored CCTV can be considered for new installations and suitable existing CCTV systems. Where an activation requires a response, the Alarm Receiving Centre can alert nominated keyholders in line with the agreed monitoring arrangement.

Archer Security is SSAIB certificated and can install monitored CCTV systems for residential properties.

Archer Security's approach is to understand the requirement, specify the appropriate system, and then supply and install that system. We don't operate as a labour-only installation service for customer-supplied CCTV equipment.

If you already have an existing CCTV system that needs servicing or assessing, speak to Archer Security about the equipment you have.

Will home CCTV work at night?

Night-time performance depends on the camera, its position, the available lighting and what you need the camera to capture.

That's one of the reasons we look at the property before specifying a system rather than promising the same result from every camera position.

How long is CCTV footage kept?

That depends on the system specification, how it is configured and the storage available.

We'll discuss the appropriate setup as part of specifying the system.

Yes. Archer Security provides monitored CCTV for residential properties using Camect technology, with detector-operated and AI-analytics options depending on the property and requirements.
